Visit of Luxembourg Delegation to Astana
The ministries of Foreign affairs of Kazakhstan and Luxembourg held the second round of political consultations on 10 July 2024 in Astana.
The Luxembourg Delegation, headed by Mr David Weis, Director for Eastern Europe and Deputy Director for political affairs, was welcomed by Kazakhstan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Roman Vassilenko, who underlined the importance of the parthership with Luxembourg as a political and economic partner and within the European Union.
The meeting was the opportunity to discuss the highly dynamic bilateral relations and areas of further cooperation, such as inter-parliamentary dialogue and economic cooperation. Both delegations also exchanged views on issues of international importance and reaffirmed their commitment to close cooperation within multilateral fora, as both countries currently hold a mandate at the UN Human Rights Council.
During their two-day visit to Astana, the Luxembourg Delegation also met with the BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce, the EU Delegation, and members of civil society.
